Karim Babay

Mr. Babay founded Intrinsic Value Investment Partners (IVIP) in 2009 as a hedge fund platform. IVIP currently serves as investment manager to the Intrinsic Value Onshore and Intrinsic Value Offshore Funds, launched in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Prior to IVIP, Mr. Babay was a Partner at Foxhill Capital Partners, a distressed/event driven hedge fund founded in 2005. Mr. Babay served on Foxhill’s investment committee.

 

Prior to Foxhill, Mr. Babay spent 6 years at Lehman Brothers in various capacities including investment banking and proprietary trading (Capital Structure Arbitrage Desk). Mr. Babay was a member of Lehman’s global mergers and acquisitions group from 2001 to 2003 where he completed several transactions. In 2003, Mr. Babay joined Lehman’s proprietary trading desk as a portfolio manager responsible for generating and executing trading ideas in both the debt and equity markets.

 

Prior to Lehman Brothers, Mr. Babay worked in various managerial positions in the textile and sanitary ware industries. Mr. Babay holds a MBA from Columbia Business School. Mr. Babay served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Friendship Ambassadors Foundation for 7 years.

Eli Nichtberger

Mr. Nichtberger began his 10+ year career as a long/short derivative trader and analyst at Tech Point Capital, a boutique hedge fund located in New York City. In 2016, Mr. Nichtberger transitioned into the real estate industry, serving as Director of Business Development for JLM Decorating, a full-service finishes contracting company, whereby Mr. Nichtberger analyzed, sourced and procured well over $100MM in finishes contracts for the firm.

 

Prior to JLM, Mr. Nichtberger founded ELIeN Group LLC in 2014, a real estate-based consulting firm serving the Tri-State and Florida markets. Since inception, ELIeN Group has successfully structured and advised owners, developers and high net-worth individuals on various real estate related deal-flow in excess of $1BB, syndicating new capital for ground up developments as well as analyzing and structuring debt/equity for construction and/or existing real estate portfolios.

 

Mr. Nichtberger is passionate about the cryptocurrency/blockchain industry and has been deeply involved and invested in the space since 2015, advising clients and believing that Bitcoin is a major disruptor in modern economics as well as one of the best performing store of value assets in existence. In 2021, Mr. Nichtberger successfully completed Anthony Pompliano’s Bitcoin Academy Certification. Mr. Nichtberger also holds a BA in Real Estate Investment from Baruch College and is proud to be on the fundraising committee for the non-profit Tunnel To Towers Foundation.
